Why should I register?

You do not need to register just to read the materials on the Talking Biosecurity site. However, if you wish to interact with the site by making comments, providing feedback, completing surveys, asking questions or making online submissions, you need to register. You only have to register once, and then sign in each time you participate in an engagement activity. Registration is just a few simple questions that help us understand which audiences we are reaching via our online engagement.

Why is the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development using the Talking Biosecurity site for engagement?

Online engagement complements traditional face-to-face consultation activities such as workshops. The Talking Biosecurity site is a convenient digital method for the community to interact with the department for regulatory consultations and to provide feedback on a range of biosecurity and welfare topics. It is also an effective way for the department to engage with people who might not be able to attend face-to-face activities.

    Is my privacy protected?

Yes, your privacy is protected. The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development will only use your email to invite you to participate in new projects and update you on existing projects. You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time. Your personal information will not be released publicly or used for any other purpose. More information is available in our Privacy Policy.

    How are the comments moderated?

Moderators do not edit comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, offensive or malicious. The contributor will be advised of comments that have been removed and why. Refer to the Moderation Policy for more information.

I provided feedback on a project – now what happens?

All feedback provided via the site is collated and used to inform the department's decision-making. Project updates are posted on the Talking Biosecurity site so you can see the results of each consultation and the department's subsequent decisions.
